Carrying on from Part 1 of Ruth and Simon’s Pre-wedding, this is a little taster of the film we shot after we got all that digital stuff out the way! We’re trialing out bringing film back to wedding photography, mainly for it’s distinctive, true-vintage look that you just can’t get with digital photos. Not only that, medium format film is still decades ahead of the quality of digital cameras and likely will be for a while to come.
With the geeky bit out of the way, here’s some photos. Sorry they’re so big, I just wanna show you the quality of medium format film! If you’re interested in wedding photography using film then get in touch. At the moment, we’re at the guinea-pig stage so couples who want to help us trial it out can do so at guinea-pig prices!

Ruth + Simon are getting married at the end of the month in the market town of Pudsey on the outskirts of Leeds. We took a wee stroll around the park today whilst I waved my camera at them and they practiced their most ‘natural-looking’ poses.

We also did a roll of medium format film under a willow tree but you’ll have to hold your horses for that one, this is the magic of digital… the magic of film takes a bit longer to brew, but rest assured they’ll be up on the blog soon enough.
I first met Joseph at Emma + Andy’s wedding when I snapped him drinking wine out of a wellington boot… so when he asked me to come shoot his Bollywood themed wedding party, it was a no-brainer!
Tanya + Joseph even brought me back to Emma + Andy’s reception venue at East Keswick Village Hall on the outskirts of Leeds. The surrounding rolling hills and picturesque views make it a favourite venue for me too.

Didn’t you hear? There was a royal wedding the other day. You had that day off work remember? Ooooh, yeah, THAT royal wedding!!!
Here’s our little salute to the day at the James + Lianne household in all it’s red, white and blue tackiness!

Our hearty congratulations to the no doubt happy couple. J+L
