If there’s one place to get married in Yorkshire for a tiny wedding, it has to be the Star Inn in Harome. Their Cross House Lodge is large enough to seat your nearest and dearest and have a Michelin starred meal for them too. There’s something so relaxed about the tiny village of Harome but the Star Inn brings a real buzz to it too. And just to bring yet even more excitement to Charlotte & Matt’s wedding, Charlotte is the immensely talented cake maker at Cherry Blossom Cakes, and she – of course – made all three of her wedding cakes herself 🙂
With Charlotte and Matt taking it easy and both getting ready at Cross House lodge in separate rooms, Charlotte made her clandestine cake set-up mid-morning ensuring Matt didn’t accidentally spy her making her important duties! Her hand-painted cake was simply to die for with gorgeous flowers that were echoed on her wedding dress too bringing a touch of Spring to their day. Matt scrubbed up pretty good too!
Their ceremony in the piggery was short and sweet in front of their family before drinks and a few photos around the village. The sun popped it’s head out just briefly enough and at just the right time to capture Charlottes amazing customised dress. The rest of the afternoon was spent chasing chickens, toasting marshmallows and enjoying the relaxed vibe to this country bistro wedding venue in North Yorkshire. We feel honoured to have been a part of their day.
