It’s hard to say who’s the real star of the show at Ellie & Neil’s wedding as Barnie the cat was such a show-stealer, he even got his own beer! Cats aside, Ellie & Neil’s Fountains Abbey wedding was a small affair with 38 of their nearest and dearest. We caught up with them as they got ready in Harrogate before making their way over to Fountain’s Hall for their wedding. We love the photos of Neil nervously waiting with anticipation as Ellie walked in to meet him. Capturing both sides of that moment is what we really love about working as a duo. After their ceremony, and in between the rain showers we made time for a few quick family photos before Ellie & Neil made their way over to the abbey for portraits together. You can’t have a Fountains Abbey wedding without making use of the amazing backdrop on your doorstep!
Despite coming armed with wellies, Neil still ended up carrying Ellie to drier pastures! Chivalry is alive and well! We loved the blue colour scheme and Ellie’s handmade paper bouquet. They also brought in their love of Japanese influences to their decorations at their reception venue at the Yorkshire Hotel in Harrogate. Origami cranes lined the room and the show stopper was the My Neighbour Totoro themed wedding cake, complete with all the characters and cupcakes to boot. Amazing!
The real party began with the first dance. Ellie & Neil are very talented ballroom dancers and had choreographed a fabulous routine. Ellie made a dress change and they hit the floor and set the bar to a new high! Their dance friends joined shortly after for one of the most exciting dancefloors we’ve been on in a long while!
