When Jess & Cam first got in touch with us when they were looking for a Holdsworth House wedding photographer, they said they want ‘alternative style candid shots’ with the usual ‘family group shots’. That describes our work to a tee! Their day was a nice relaxed intimate family affair with an afternoon of enjoying the sun in the gardens with good company. What more could you ask for?
Jess was already in her wedding dress when we arrived, be it over her PJ’s! This girls’s all about comfort! Making an effort to be ready early, Jess had a good hour to spare before the ceremony and spent it spying out of the windows on guests arriving! With everyone here and Cam waiting downstairs, holding back the happy tears, it was time to get wed! Countless hankies and tissues later, it was drinks in the gardens with all the dogs making guest appearances. We love dogs at weddings! More often than not they end up being proper limelight stealers!
After some unstuffy family photos, Jess and Cam stole away for a few moments for some fun portraits together and we made sure to make use of the gorgeous sunlight to show up the details in her veil. Take a look at Jess’s veil, wonderfully embroidered with flowers and beadwork bees. It’s gorgeous!
Drinks, speeches, meal, the afternoon was nice and relaxed and rolled into the evening for the first dance. We’ll ignore Jess’s bouqet toss mishap – make note of low ceilings before tossing! She actually thanked us for making it look more successful in the photos than it really was!! Jess and Cam’s first dance rounded off with an impromptu father-daughter dance and everyone enjoying a great knees up into the night.
