Jessica & Jonathan’s Kirk Hammerton Village Hall wedding York was the villagey-est wedding there ever was! Set in the heart of the sleepy North Yorkshire village, they had a raucous celebration of their wedding with music, fun and games. Guests gathered at village hall in the morning before boarding the bus to take them to York Register Office whilst Jess got ready in the next village before taking her own VW camper to the wedding.
After the I-do’s and a frankly wonderfully on-point reading taken from Fleabag by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, it was outside into the wonderful gardens of the register office. We were so happy to capture a wonderfully framed moment of Jessica & Jonathan stealing their first kiss in a moment of quiet before running the confetti gauntlet. It’s not often moments come so perfectly together so unscripted.
Back t’wedding at Kirk Hammerton Village Hall, guests were greeted by a traditional Yorkshire brass band, drinks and nibbles. Pull-your-own pints, swing ball and fun in the village green made for a relaxed, fun afternoon full of impromptu dancing, music and laughter. J&J made a few moments of quiet time for themselves by stealing away for a few portraits. Making the most of the gorgeous village scenery and nipping down the road to a field of wheat to put the icing on the portrait cake! Food and speeches quickly ensued with only a handful of embarrassing stag do photos becoming public!
As the overcast day gave way to a sunny evening, we made the most of it with 5 minutes of bonus round portrait photos. It’s so worth just taking a few minutes for any good light and we know J&J certainly appreciated it 🙂 After cutting the caterpillar cakes it was confetti cannons on the dance floor. What a fantastic village hall wedding, full of Yorkshire vibes and good times. Thank you so much for having us be a part of it all.
