By now, you’ll hopefully know we’re huge advocates for small weddings. The Old Deanery in Ripon is ideal for such intimate weddings, it’s self-contained, in a beautiful setting and flexible enough to feel cosy enough for a tiny wedding or large enough for a medium sized shindig. It also sits right at the foot of Ripon Cathedral so you can bank on a grand setting!
In the morning, we’d genuinely never seen a bride quite as relaxed as Beth. Literally nothing fazed her to the point of being the most relaxed person at the whole wedding! She got ready with just her best friend and bridesmaid and was ready an hour early so we just sat chatting, drinking and having a laugh. It was oh so relaxed! Meanwhile, Mo was downstairs greeting family and friends as they ushered into the ceremony room. Beth walked down with her dad, both beaming with smiles to meet Mo for a gorgeous little ceremony. And can we just say that is how to do a signing of the register photo! They’re something we know is kinda stagey which isn’t our style but registrars minds are blown if a couple says they don’t want to do a formal signing of the register photo. Beth & Mo, just signed and cuddled. Nothing contrived. It’s perfect!
After the I do’s it was confetti outdoors in the garden which led to group photos and into a few portraits nestled in the willow tree. An intimate meal and a few touching speeches were followed by prosecco pong (gotta up your game when it’s a wedding!) and dancing. We stole away for just a couple more minutes to take advantage of the golden sunlight and that amazing backdrop of the cathedral… because who could resist!?
